    Sap Modeling Issues

well no one can give you each and every detail about how to model it. We can provide you with the basic guidelines and concept, provided that you have the background in using the appropriate options and commands in software. I know we all start learning from zero but you need some one who can train you step by step; may be in your office. I have downloaded your files and if possible i can give you files 2 hrs on weekend to make a tutorial for you! happy?

  2. Nice reply Umar. And I appreciate Rana's efforts and valuable suggestions. Here I just only want to add that if we add a forum for job opportunities I hope we can make audience active as I have observed that the ratio of posting or sharing is much less as expected. At the stage if continuous reminders to those members who are not engaged in any activity through E-Mail. One more thing which I would like to add here the forum for research work should be started where every one can share research work. However its great effort to give the Pakistani Structural Engineers Voice.

  4. Salaam everbody! We know more, when we share our knowledge, and this forum is platform where we can share and get knowledge relating to structural engineering. Umar makhzomi has done good job in spreading this forum, having posted an ad on facebook. But we need to do more,as facebook is not enough.More people should be inlvolved in this forum which will help us discuss our problems related to structural engineering and eventually can help us in becoming better engineers. Please give your suggestions as to how can we publicize this forum. cheers.

    Suggestions To Admin

Dear Umar, the admin! here are some of my suggestions i would like to include in our forum to make it more unique! we need a section called Trusted or Solved Examples or Learning Tutorials in which we can have subsections like ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, SAP etc... or by topics e.g. FOUNDATIONS, SLABS, FEM understanding, Intrepretting results of FEM etc i think by subject is better. Now every one can submit an example. After verifying the examples by us or other members, we can make it public on forum, so that it helps new learners of FEM softwares to download and understand it. I think this is the unique thing i havent seen in other forums even in very famous international forums... 2-We need a new section called Model Review...If any one wants to ask to review his/her model. They can upload it and after checking we can upload it back so that they can learn! again unique feature. By the way its all time consuming but i assure you i can go far with that concept personally 3-New section for developing new design sheets, vba programs, writing new articles or books and authors asking for help for joint writing. like i want my self some one who can assist me in make a new book on etabs. but unfortunately i had been very busy. but tomorrow my current projc gonna finish so i will think abt it seriously! 4-Need a new section for assisting structural programs like CAD, REVIT etc where we can share LISP files..by LISP files i dont mean the drafting help files, i mean rather pure engineering or related to engineering work files and stuff and tricks 5-Now i think we need atleast two moderating members to just arrange topics and threads and warn members for not posting in right section. They should develop the appropriate policies and upload on our forum and then appropriate authorities given to those moderators. 6-I dont know if we have a image host or not..if we dont we need one! I will add more but for the time being thats it lets have a discussion public or private...to consider these!

  12. Basic Building Parameters The basic parameters that define a pre-engineered building are: Building Width, Building Length, Building Height, Roof Slope, End Bay Length, Interior Bay Length, and Design Loads. BUILDING WIDTH: No matter what primary framing system is used, the building width is defined as the distance from outside of eave strut of one sidewall to outside of eave strut of the opposite sidewall. Building width does not include the width of Lean-To buildings or roof extensions. BUILDING LENGTH The longitudinal length of the building measured from out to out of end wall steel lines. BUILDING HEIGHT: Building height is the eave height which usually is the distance from the bottom of the main frame column base plate to the top outer point of the eave strut. When columns are recessed or elevated from finished floor, eave height is the distance from finished floor level to top of eave strut. ROOF SLOPE: This is the angle of the roof with respect to the horizontal. The most common roof slopes are 0.5/10 and 1/10. Any practical roof slope is possible. END BAY LENGTH: The distance from outside of the outer flange of endwall columns to center line of the first interior frame column. INTERIOR BAY LENGTH: The distance between the center lines of two adjacent interior main frame columns. The most common bay lengths are 6 m, 7.5 m and 9 m. DESIGN LOADS: Unless otherwise specified Steel pre-engineered buildings are designed for the following minimum loads: Roof Live Load: 0.57 kN/m2 Design Wind Speed: 110 km/h Design for snow loads, earth quake loads, collateral loads, crane loads or any other loading condition, if required must be specified. 13. Rightly said, this community can be a source of great information and as mentioned before somewhere in the forum, in "Uplifting" Structural Design Practise in Pakistan. It is the only way. Lets spread the word.

  15. Trusted or solved example. We do have a similar section. I think it would be good to make another section with the name you proposed once site gets more busy and we have more people that can contribute to it. The only concern is forum activity. Will do when its more busy. Model Review Its a very good suggestion but I am holding back.. When the forum gets more busier we will make it.. for now let stick to Structural Software Issues Suggestion 3 and 4, The thing is what you are saying is 100% the way it should be, but we need to have more fourm activity for that. Lets wait for some time.. then for sure Suggestion 5. We have 5 supermods. I will review and see if we need more. I am willing to add/make anyone moderator if he is interested and visits forum actively. Suggestion 6: You can upload all images in your post. attach them, and select the option to display in post where you want them. PM me and explain it why we need more? I think we need to start uploading stuff.. I am busy these days but will do soon! Thanks for the suggestions Rana. I highly value them. I want this place to be a bit more busy, then will update as required. cheers!
