its not necessary that you put in 45 degree you can also add this amount in the x and y direction rebars...usually the required area at the discontinous ends will be less and it can easliy be accounted for. If you are designing in SAFE it will automatically include everything in rebar areas or moment contours of M11 and M22 but just remember to add M12 in both M11 and M22 conservatively1 point
