  1. by default etabs gives 10% of the beam depth as its top and bottom cover. Most of the times you can rely on that in order to save time by not getting lost too much into tiny details. I for example use 65mm for beams depth less than 750mm (40mm clear cover+10mm stirrups dia+half of 25mm dia bar considering it to be 1 layer) and 90mm for beams depth more than 750mm (considering two layers) you really need to worry about this issue when you have shallow beams, for deeper beams, etabs assumption of 10% of depth is fine. and 65mm for columns (they always have one layer, assume bar dia of 25mm or 1inch #8)

  2. My question is that what should i put in top and bottom cover values while defining beams and column. by default etabs gives the cover values but they vary with sizes like 2.5 inch 2.7 etc

  3. My PMP certification cycle was going to expire recently. I tried to search the way in which we can earn free PDUs online, with out undergoing through any formal or informal training and wasting money. 1. Claim 15 PDU for doing a Project Management related job for a period of 3 years. 2. Read 2 Books and earn PDUs. There is a variety of books available online on open source forums hence they really dont conflict with Professional responsibilities and ethics concepts of PMI. 3. Claim remaining PDUs by watching free PDU. A five minute google search can yield millions of such PDU. If you find some good tips do share with us on this forum. Best Regards Uzair Ashraf

  5. Thanks for the check list Muhammad. Though its quite optimistic and very brief, i liked this list and found it really useful. I believe that a Project is constructed thrice, once in minds, then in Papers followed by real construction. Fortunately, this list covers all stages of a Project.
