  1. I am designing a steel shed. I did manual calculations for the initial selection of sizes. But when I modeled it in ETABS all of them failed. For columns my initial section was W4x13 and it was failing in shear and D/C. I am attaching the file here. The main issue is I don't know which checks should be applied in these members. And how should I control drift? Bus terminal Shed.$ET Bus terminal Shed.rar
  2. Block masonry walls are provided..Yes the roof had metal sheet supported by steel purlins. They can be selected by manual calculation, but my question is how do we incorporate seismic loads in design. Manually we include only gravity loads. It will be constructed in Muzaffarabad which lies in zone 4. We cant just ignore seismic effects there
  3. I am designing a single story load bearing structure for seismic zone 4, its roof is one sided slope. The purlin sizes are selected by manual calculation, how should I include seismic loads in its design? Should I model the whole structures in ETABS or just the roof? As it is not a frame structure, so the base shear calculations are required or not?
  4. Sir what difference would it make if we dont assign diaphragm in ETABS?
