  7. to be structural engineer u need to have BSc civil engg degree and than MS structural engg degree.the qualification u have is DAE and currently u r doing B-tech which is good enough to work in field as site engineer but not as structural engineer.u can register yourself with saudi engineering council on basis of b-tech plus experience so that u can get engineer status there.in pakistan there is PTC like PEC,dnt know how active it is.

  10. there is a newly established council for technologist or the persons who has Tech degrees PTC (Pakistan Technology Council) headed by VC UET Lahore,it would be working like PEC,technology degrees are good for those who have good execution experience in the industry,in Pakistan B-Tech is not valued much but abroad B-Tech get good jobs according to there experience. UET,Lahore offers B-Tech programes as Govt. universities are concerned up to my knowledge ,there might be other universities as well.many private sector universities offer B-tech Programes .
  11. in a lecture i came across by this support encastre roller,i searched for it and found that Amin Ghali in his structural analysis book mentioned this as totally fixed support.But in the lecture i was shown a picture it was like two rollers and member in between picture is attached ,what would be the application of this kind of support

  13. DSHA stands for Deterministic Seismic Hazard Analysis and PSHA stands for Probabalistic Seismic Hazard Analysis. By using these two methods site specific SHA (Seismic Hazard Analysis) is performed especially for very very important structures like nuclear power plants ,large dams ,bridges etc. these methods are used complementary to each other and their use make the structures economical and safe.

  16. height of the structure is not the criteria to select the type of frame.in zone 3 and 4 special moment resisting frame is code requirement. zone 3,4 are high seismic areas and very extensive detailing is required.
