    for foundation only service load combo should be checked not the all load combinations.in your model in load static cases there is no wind load taken your building is 15 storeys so wind load must be included,in load cases in EQ loads bottom story is 2story,is it ok ?or it should be lowest story.

    in the case 42"x10" column size ?coulumn must have some proportion in both dimensions it is too stiff in one direction and too weak in other.before proposing a shear wall, designer must consult with the contractor and ask the proof of his competency for constructing a shear wall especially in Pakistan.shear wall is better option if could be constructed precisely

    ok no problem i have searched it on my own and got with the help of www.ranawaseem.com thank you Rana Waseem sab ,that if the number in denominator is greater than 98 drift is ok ,but i have doubt because an engineer told me that it should be greater than 400.any one would like to comment please? Also sir you told me after this i posted it here, thank you for guidance and response,i have analysed that model it is interesting !!!i increased the size of columns to 18x18 but one of the mumty column is still overstressed even there is very minute load on mumty ,on the lower floors same column has reinforcement ratio less than 2%,what is the reason ?it is basment+4 including mumty.zone three abotabad

    from water structure what you mean is it a wier? or some model of any dam?it is better to calculate the manual hydrostatic pressure also earthquake forces and you can laso model it in etabs

    kindly check the values for a model i have analysed in etabs and briefly tell how we check that our drift values are ok or not? a snap of the drift values table is attached

    can we design T beams or L beams in etabs? how to add assign them in etabs as we dont design slabs in etabs.

    here is the jpg of the cad drawing .i have one problem to draw the curved beam and secondly if u check in the drawing beams are at the edge of column so do i draw then in center in etabs or same as in the drawing ,if i take them in center of column will it effect the analysis?

    no sister it is still there i couldnt draw the curve line in etabs, if i draw it in circular grid with small fragments then i could not join them in one

    how to draw a curved beam in etabs? i tried drawing a cylinderical grid and draw small lines then tried to join these lines but it does not work lines are joind. while the lines in horizontal or vertical can be joined .kindly suggest some way out?

    here are the images for both etabs v9.7.1 and sap2000 v14. there is difference in shear values i used default load combinations. moments are different .i guess there is some problem with my load combination.i chekd the moments for defing my own combination .i defined the combination 1.2D+1.6L for both.moments are 192k-ft and 274k-ft in Sap2000 and Etabs respectively.

    i have a simple frame with single span 25' beam(12x18) supported by 2columns(12x12).loads on beam are 2k point load at the centre,500lb/ft uniform live load and 1000 lb/ft uniform dead load.columns are having same 1% reinforcement in both but beam shows 5.30% in Etabs and 1.52% in Sap2000.fc' for beam is 3000psi and for columns 4000psi.preferences are set to ACI318/IBC 2003. i couldn't upload the files ,on attaching "your are not permitted to upload this kind of file.

    does results given by sap2000 for cold steel are ok?
