Salam, Structural engineering is different from software learning, if you know some structural engineering a bit of software is enough for your support, spending too much time on software learning is waste of time, get yourself practical projects and use software accordingly. Thank you. Means I can not go without Phi, my sections are columns and are compression controlled mainly, so 0.8 is the requirement of code. But when i check fiber interaction displayed that show almost double the capacity used in code complied capacity. Couldnt we go for that? Regards

Salam, In a RCC residential building B+G+12, Columns have deficient concrete strength, i have analyzed with deficient concrete and existing steel, in ETABS, if i check interaction diagram, if i check it without phi columns are Ok, but with Phi they have deficiency of D/C 1.13 to 1.3, could I go without phi? Without phi D/C is around 0.8 to 0.9, please guide. Regards

Salam, yes I resolved it, in actual there was a basement wall, this wall has wall on its top ,my colleague selected the wall and assigned load of wall to the wall area so there was the problem. Thank you for your kind reply. Regards

Give a try to brace the bottom of trusses, add some members in the plane of bottom chord of trusses parallel to purlin. Regards

Salam, Working on a building, analysis on CSI Etabs, base reactions in Gravity (Wg=Dead+ Live+ Super Dead), is not matching the seismic weight (Ws=1xDead+0.25 Live+ 1xSuper Dead), Ws is much lower whenI compare with Wg, what could be possible reason of difference, please guide .Regards

Salam, PBD of a normal building say 8 to 12 storey will have conservative reinforcements than prescriptive code based design, how long it will take to complete PBD of this scale buildings. Regards

Salam, In CSi detailer, there is option of seismic and non seismic detailing of beams, for seismic detailing it provides laps of beams in the mid of span for both top and bottom bars, is that right? I could not make sense out of it. please guide ,regards.

Salam, is that possible concrete cylinders has 4000psi compressive strength at 28 days and cores after 35 days has 3000psi, cylinders are standard, cores are 2inches dia, what should be reasonable/standard size of cores for relating strengths. Regards

Salam, if you didnt get from teachers, best to get from books, Nilson is one of them, hibbler for structural analysis and materials mechanics, one book of geotechnical basics Braja M Das or any other, after studying in depth you could get someone senior engineer who could mentor you, without studying there is no formula to teach yourself, mentor can not help mentee without this, more accurate mentor and mentee will waste each others time. Salam, No engineering problem has single right solution, there are multiple equally good solutions for engineering problems. So difference of opinion on this matter is totally justified. Engineers decide as per their experience and engineering judgement supported by engineering theories. I second Badar. Regards

Could you share complete plan of building and a section .you may add some piles under foundation of wall to stabilize it or connect wall foundation with upper level foundation through beams or strips connected through a cut off wall.
