2-multiply the modulus of subgrade reaction with area of pile. Dear Ilyas Sb., Is it the cross sectional area or frictional area of pile?

I have ETABS model on which mass source is defined from "self and specified mass", though i changed it and defined the mass source from "loads" (Dead Loads with scale factor = 1). after changing the mass source definition there is immense change in stresses M11 & M22 of Strip Footing (modeled as shell on the base level around the column). Which one i should follow?
