I usually model base of structure 1.5 meter below ground floor. Now after analysis and design. The area of steel I am getting for that 1.5 meter height is approximately 1000 Sqmm more than that of what I am getting in top floor ( Please refer to Attached pics) . My question is, in such case how to finalize the steel in the columns. Please guide me in this regard. Your kind help in this regard is required.
Hello All,
I was checking my model again and I found out that, when I am dividing the main beam RB-3 connecting this column to connect the secondary beam RB-2, I am getting this result and, when I am keeping the main beam RB-3 continuous than results are okay.
Can anyone please put some light on this. Why this is happening.

Need Urgent help regarding Column Design Issue. I am working on G+4 Building Model where I am struck in the output of one particular column, whose design and analysis Moments are not MAtching. I checked my model several times but could not find the bug.
The Analysis Moment M33 = 1.7 kNm and design moment M33 = 81.6 kNm . Also for this loading the the percentage of Steel seems to be huge. I am attaching the pics and, also the model for your reference. I will be thankful if the members please help me sort this issue.

Thanks For the Reply, If I release the whole moment of the secondary beam than, How Am I going to achieve it on site as However this beam is going to be monolithic with the Main Beam. Also my Question is, in Etabs when I model the secondary beam, is it necessary to break the main beam at the location of Secondary to main beam junction or keep it Continuous. Can anyone please guide me with correct process .

Could you please check the attached pics of my model and guide me, whether to divide the main beam at the location of secondary beam Connections. In my model the secondary beam is inducing some negative moment in the main beam and to counter this, do we need to release the moment in the main beam. If yes Than what percentage and How to provide the detailing for site to make beam behave same in real world scenario.
Also I am attaching the model. Could any callegue please check it and let me know any Modelling Issues.
