From engineering point of view, it is really very amazing to see a complete city builtup in water ways, in a lagoon. How did they make the foundation system of buildings completely all the time underwater? Really interesting article here is. i have to design a water testing structure ....height of this structure is about 50 feet...this structure will be surrounded by RCC walls ...now internally these RCC walls have to resist water pressure and also resist earthquake as well...now i am confused that how to tackle it...i can design walls manually to resist water pressure but i require your suggestion that which software is available in which i can apply water pressure to walls ??? etab is not good in handling water body structure as far my knowledge is concern, so need your guidance???

How the main reinforcement in the bottom slab of a water tank is placed ???should it be bent down at the ends just as the one bent up in room slabs?and do the temperature bars be placed below main bars on the soil side or above the main bars on the water side???
