Assalam O Alykum Need supporting ideas to reach conclusions On one of the construction site attached here photos of water leakage from steel tank RCC Foundations. Tank Capacity is 2,000 M3 and tank is being filled from last 10 days. There was no leakage up to 500-700 M3 water but from yesterday water leakage appears on foundation as water volume is being increased inside tank. Today water volume inside tank is near 1,000 M3 at the current time. Settlement values after performing the plate load test looks fine around 7mm and NDT ( Schmidt hammer) the compressive strength of foundation looks also found ok. Can anybody advise

I am new here and I am stuck in a few problems in seismic design of water retaining structures. I am stuck in "effective mass coefficient ε" asked in ACI 350-3-06 Appendex A Step 5, and S1 ans Ss from ACI 350-3-06. it says the "From the applicable seismic ground motion map of ASCE 7-05, Chapter 22, obtain the mapped maximum considered earth-quake spectral response accelerations at short periods and at 1 second (SS and S1, respectively)" but the maps give values for US and I need values for Lahore.

Asa, We are starting new house construction, my question is related to underground water tank? if I select 1700 cubic feet space (12500 Gallon or 47500 liters storage capacity) for it , what should be my RCC wall thickness? and what other consideration I should take to avoid leakage and damage . Thank you Khurram Naseem
