What is the difference between essential boundary condition and natural boundary condition? If i have an equation having highest derivative of 5th order, then what will be the natural boundary condition and what will be the essential boundary condition. please don't put the theory. Solve and upload it. Thanks.

Aoa, Is there any book for beginners to learn the basic concepts of finite element analysis. As I have downloaded a lot of books, some of books are related to Mechanical Engineering, While some are Aerospace Engineering, and some are about Civil Engineering. Each book context are different. If you've info about the aforementioned required book, please share with me. Thank you.

Aoa, hello guys, Idk how to start problem here but let's just make it straight. I'm studying FEA in my Master studies and the teacher has assigned me task to select any research paper based on finite element analysis, provide summary of research paper and regenerate the results using software. I selected a research paper, which was based on comparison of results of strap footing settlement using SAP, ETAB and manual calculations. The comparison was for results. I reproduced the same results in software and submitted to my course instructor. He rejected the results and told me to select any research paper which actually shows what happens inside the structure and regenerate the results. This project carries 15% weight of subject marks. I'm unable to find research paper which actually shows the required results. If you think, it's possible, please whatsapp me at --- ASAP.Put your reviews here too. JazakAllah.

Hey there, I wana know whats the size of frame object auto internal meshing into discrete elements in CSI softwares (Etab, Sap) and how can i see it in my program to verify it, (extrude view is helpful as per i have tried it ). Any reference where they are mentioning it , I have gone through analysis manual but couldn't find it there , or may be i have missed. Please comment your views.

I am designing a 10 storied industrial building . Architect used a slanted wall in the front elevation of the building for aesthetic reason. But for structural framing I need to model this shear wall in ETABS. Is is possible in ETABS or I have to use any other software?

A0A hope all will be fine why we use meshing in modal? i was doing a project of six story having shear ,without any mesh its deflection was about 2.5" and when i meshed both wall and slabs and also apply restrained to slab than the deflection decreases tremendously.? is this because of meshing or restraints or something else .i am using etabs v16 please guide me thank you

Asalamualaikum, I have applied point load on cantilever beam (Lx=1m Ly=0.1m Lz=0.1m) at its free end (1N in z direction). i have divided the load on each node at top and bottom fibre (as shown in figure). why the software showing the SXY and and SYZ stresses since they will only develop due to torsion. it should show only SZX stress which are due to shear i.e VQ/Ib. i have also put poison ratio as zero. if i change the loading condition to uniform distributed loading, then it gives SXY,SYZ=0. Thankyou attached is the file showing x and y axis of the beam. it also shows sxy, syz and szx respectively.

Hi, I have a problem with a simply supported deep beam which has a uniformly distributed load. The beam is simply supported at both ends but I have to consider the results for the following 3 scenarios - where the support is at the bottom of each end of the beam - where the support is at the mid point at each end of the beam - where support is at top of each end of the beam I have run this using FEA and I'm finding significantly different deflections and stresses when the beam is supported at the midpoint at its end and the other two scenarios...can anyone explain the exact reasoning for this? Sincere thanks Daniel
